Attic Insulation Removal
Not every insulation problem can be fixed by simply adding more material on top. When moisture, pests, or age compromise your existing insulation, covering it up only traps the problem underneath a fresh layer. Removal becomes the first real step toward getting your attic back to a clean, healthy starting point.
Old insulation can hold onto dust, rodent droppings, and trapped moisture long after the original issue is gone. Left in place, it keeps circulating odors and allergens through your home every time your air conditioner or heater runs.
We remove old or contaminated insulation using a contained process built to keep debris out of your living space entirely.

Jonathan and his crew cleaned my attic and crawl space, sealed all of the entry points to keep the rodents out and installed new insulation. They arrived on time and despite sweltering heat they completed the job in a timely and professional manner. Additionally, they answered all of my many questions. I would strongly recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

They sent over Brian for a free inspection. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to show the drain leak issue we have. Unfortunately, it’s not in their scope of service. But he helped us find and speak to plumbing company. Thank you Brian!Posted on Google![]()

Our house is going on 30 years old and we knew from other subs and trades that the attic insulation was uneven across the house and inadequate in places. We had all of the old insulation removed, the space cleaned up, openings sealed, baffles installed, and new R-49 fiberglass insulation blown in. Angel and his crew were prompt, very polite and respectful of our house, and worked diligently to complete the job in a timely manner. They kept the areas of their work neat and clean and left no mess behind. The space looks great, and we are looking forward to realizing the benefits of the new insulation right away.Posted on Google![]()

When Attic Insulation Removal Is Necessary
Removal isn’t always required, but a few situations make it the right call:
- Rodent contamination: Droppings, urine, or nesting material mixed into insulation are a health concern that cannot simply be covered over.
- Moisture or mold: Wet or moldy insulation loses its effectiveness and can spread spores into your attic space.
- Compressed or aged material: Insulation that has settled or degraded over decades often needs to come out before new material can perform properly.
- Fire or smoke exposure: Insulation that has absorbed smoke odor or soot rarely recovers its original performance.
If any of these apply to your attic, removal clears the way for a fresh, effective installation.
How We Handle Attic Insulation Removal
We start by protecting your home, laying heavy-duty sheeting from your entry point to the attic access so nothing gets tracked through your living space. From there, we use high-volume vacuum equipment stationed outside the home to pull old material directly into our trucks, which keeps dust, fiberglass particles, and contaminants from ever entering your house.
Larger debris and old batting get bagged and carried out by hand, and we finish with a careful vacuum of the attic floor so the space is ready for whatever comes next. All of the removed material is disposed of off-site, not left in a pile in your yard or garage.
What We Look For Before We Recommend Removal
We don’t remove insulation just to sell a bigger job. During a free inspection, we check for the specific signs above and let you know honestly whether removal is needed or whether your current material can stay in place.
If we come across a material like vermiculite that may contain asbestos, we pause the project and point you toward a specialized testing or abatement service rather than handling it ourselves, since that work requires different credentials than standard insulation removal.
Why Homeowners Choose Us for Removal
Removing insulation the right way takes more than a shop vac and a weekend.
- Contained extraction process: Our negative-pressure vacuum system pulls debris straight to the truck, so your home stays clean throughout the job.
- In-house crews: The same trained technicians who show up for removal are the ones who stand behind the work, not a rotating cast of subcontractors.
- Honest assessments: We tell you when removal isn’t necessary just as readily as when it is.
- One-year workmanship warranty: Every removal job is backed by our warranty, so you’re covered if anything about the work needs a second look.
Once your attic is cleared out, it’s also the right time to consider attic insulation installation with fresh, fiberglass-only material.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Not always. If your existing insulation is dry, clean, and not compressed, new material can often be added on top. If it shows signs of moisture, pests, or heavy wear, removal first gives the new insulation a clean base to work from.
No. We use a closed-loop vacuum system that pulls debris directly from the attic to a truck parked outside, and we protect walkways and entry points so your living space stays clean throughout the job.
Yes. Once the bulk material is out, we vacuum the remaining dust and debris from the floorboards so the space is ready for new insulation or any other attic work.
We primarily remove fiberglass and other standard insulation materials. If we suspect a hazardous material like vermiculite, we pause the job and recommend a specialized testing or abatement service rather than handling it ourselves.
Most removals are completed in a matter of hours, though larger attics or heavily contaminated material can extend the timeline. A free inspection gives you a realistic estimate before work begins.
